So we were watching a movie and the life of the main character was at risk - and so I exclaimed...hope nothing is gonna happen to him and kids said, naaa nothing will happen, he is protected by plot armor!
Loved it, Loved it!!!
Look what I have learnt!!.......I turned the big 4-0 in 2014 and decided what better way to mark this than to have a blog that I can write all the things I have learnt/ am learning in this great journey called LIFE...
So we were watching a movie and the life of the main character was at risk - and so I exclaimed...hope nothing is gonna happen to him and kids said, naaa nothing will happen, he is protected by plot armor!
Loved it, Loved it!!!
So its been 6 months
6 months post surgery
6 months since I cant do exercise
the weight has piled back in
but that's the price to pay
I feel better
I feel healed
The huge scar on my chest gets some stares
and i explain it
sometimes i dont bother
its my victory sign
God has allowed me this chance
and now all I can do
is
BE STILL
and know the HE is indeed God!
So today I walk into this store and voila, a Deep Heat period patch...interesting!
I really wonder whether it works
It took me back to the days when I had serious period cramps - I really think I took too many pain killers during that season! Over time I learnt that drinking extra strong black tea helped me, and also pressing a warm towel on my tummy soothed the pain. Mercifully the terrible pain went when I got my first baby.
Now this patch!
Wow!
Hope it works for those who are still in that season
So this evening (Wednesday Dec 13 2023) I came from an AWAK dinner event fully charged up!
You see, there were days years ago where an AWAK event was just a handful of people and now taking in the sight of a room of no less than 200 ladies resplendent in white (with a touch of orange) was just surreal! (and in a top end hotel no less!)
The lessons this evening from the ever inspiring Dr Nancy Onyango speaker and guest of honor were memorable - bottom line - be intentional with your life! dont wait for a crisis to make you think critically about the purpose you want to pursue in this life!
I was so happy to see young (pre-25yrs) in the room with us - and I really hope that they have the ears to hear what is being said!
and of course, meeting friends from the past when we used to organise events from small corners in the wee hours of the morning!
see what the Lord has done!
God bless AWAK!
(Association of Women Accountants of Kenya)
We began this thing as Chox gals of sending success cards to each others children when they are in Class 8 and Form 4. The simple goodwill gesture has made some money for an enterprising daughter of one of the Chox gals to design cards, include a unique message and even post the cards for a modest fee....very nice!
The cards are really appreciated by the children - since we sign off as Chox Gal (Mums friend) - and they ask, kwani you have so many friends Mummy?
I love us for this!
A Blessing from Numbers 6 for our children
24 “The Lord bless you
and keep you;
25 the Lord make
his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
26 the Lord turn
his face toward you
and give you peace.
and also blessings from Psalm 23
May the Lord be your shepherd
Amen
May you not want
Amen
May He restore your soul, and lead you in the path of righteousness for his names sake
Amen
Yea, though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, may you fear no evil, for He will be with you, his rod and staff comfort you
Amen
May He prepare for you a table, in the presence of your enemies, and anoint your head
Amen
May your cup overflow

May goodness and mercy follow YOU all the days of YOUR life, and may you dwell in the house of the LORD forever and evet
AMEN and AMEN

9/11/2001
I entered a restaurant in Nairobi briefly at around 4pm
The TV was muted and I could not read the sub headings
No one was really paying attention to the screen...
I just saw the plane crashing into the Twin Towers and I honestly thought it was a movie or something like that
I went home and reached around 7pm
Put on the TV and woahhhhhhhh...thats when the news hit me!!
What a terrible and sad turn of events..nearly 3000 souls lost their lives..waaa...and incidentally I had been to a restaurant at the Twin Towers just the year before while on a learning visit to NYC
Fast forward to October 2019 and am back to the spot where the Twin Towers were...and amazed at how they have transformed the place.
For sure resources make you more resilient!
